Moving Heaven and Earth

This is my story, the tale of my journey both on the inside and the outside.

So much has happened in my life in the last few years culminating in a massive shift in both my inner and outer worlds. They may seem quite separate but they are also quite fundamentally connected.

After living under a veil of confusion and contradiction for most of my life I gradually began to see that although I considered my life to be pretty dreadful both in my living environment and my psychological one the only way I could begin to feel better about myself was to change them both. It would be no good just to move house and say “job done”. I would still be playing those broken records of “I’m not good enough” “I’m worthless” etc in my new home. If I did the work on me but stayed put, living in the toxic relationship that put those beliefs in place then that would be doing myself a disservice, It would still leave me exposed to the taunts and criticisms which, frankly, I just didn’t think I was available for anymore.

It’s as simple as that.

So, while the house was on the market for a couple of years I made a start on the inner world aspect of my journey. I got busy making  plans and Pinterest boards ready for the day my outer world could shift, too.

So this is my story of how I moved both heaven (by going on a spiritual awakening of the self) and earth (by relocating 250 miles away) in my attempt to build a better life for myself, one where I would know my worth and own my power.

Welcome to my adventures.

Moving Heaven…

is the tale of my inner journey from severe clinical depresion to a life full of joy, excitement and adventure and the tools I used to get there. My aim is to inspire others to fall in love with themselves and realise that every single one of us has all the answers already within ourselves; you just have to look in the right place.

Moving Earth…

is the story of how two people upped sticks and moved 250 miles from home to start a new life, bought a 1930s semi and poured some love and creative vibes into it. My aim is to inspire others to fall in love with their home and surroundings and make them a place that reflects their individuality and brings them joy.

my story

It was a beautiful day to end it all. The sun was shining and the cloudless sky was so blue. I was driving along a road I know well; enough to know that there is a very deep drop off the tarmac to my left and one twitch of the wheel was all it would take.  I could...

Semi-detached heaven, here we come

We’re in! It’s been a long journey to get to this place and I’m not just counting the miles it took to get here. It took almost two years to sell our previous house, more if you count the months we spent preparing it for sale. There were times when I thought it would...
